Freedom is a precondition for all else. Some of the things that come into existence because of Freedom, seize it and cling to it, in an attempt to sustain themselves through time. By capturing freedom, they aim to preserve forever their preferred posture and their assumed form.
Since products of Freedom are less free than the Freedom itself, they tend to oppose it to a degree equal to their departure from it. Yet they depend on Freedom for empowerment to the same degree.
Compromised and enslaved, Freedom slowly dies. In so doing, it assures disintegration of the secondary structures that prey upon it. With their demise, it reconstitutes and reigns again.
